Physical chemistry

So, you can termed it as logical section of chemistry and easy to score full marks if things are done in correct Manner.

So, generally in coaching this section is taught in 11th class and some part in 12th.

So here I will discuss topic and chapter wise strategy to enhance your preparation.

So before discussing topic one suggestion I would like to give is , whenever you taught any topic in your coaching or by self study. Make sure you revise that twice in a day.

Like one after classes and once in the morning. And revise that topic from starting daily.

The benefit of doing this is that you can remember those things for next 3-4 months without revising. So make sure you revise daily.

What we usually did ,we just finished chapter solve some questions than move on and after 1month when we review it again we find all concepts have gone from mind. So make sure while completing that chapter revise as much u can so that things save in your mind permanent.

And read all the examples given in NCERT ,you will get good number of questions in you Jee mains directly so make sure u do that.

Mole Concept:

So this is the most important chapter in whole chemistry and most of the students unable to feel it. But believe me it's the easiest chapter. Here all basic concepts are taught.

So first thing from topic is conversion, you should know how to find molar mass from given moles and mass, how to find No. Of molecules from given no. Of moles, you should know how to find mass from given moles and Molar mass.

After that get well with the concept like to find empirical formula, molecular formula. Than get clear concept of limiting reagent.

After that while dealing with reaction like with what moles what is going to come.

You can remember my line with which whole mole concept was on my tips.

Suppose a reaction is given

A + 2B ------> C+ 3 D

So first thing is balance the reaction that use this line....

A ke 1 mole se banata he D ka 3 mole so A ke given moles se banega D ka itna mole

Means u have to use unitary method.

With this u can solve questions in easy way without remembering so many formula.

You should always try that concept should be clear and remember less formulas.

After that clear with all concentration terms like Molarity, Molality, mole fraction and all.

For remembering the dependence of these terms u can remember like...

If formula of concentration term contains volume that it will depend on temperature otherwise not.

And there are more small small concepts so clear them. As most of them I have mentioned.

Atomic structure:

So this chapter is bonus chapter for Jee aspirant because this comes in physics also except quantum part. So make sure you done this chapter very well here and you can revise in well manner again in modern physics.

So read theory once from Ncert ,it will give you the best idea you can get from anywhere.

Remember all the discoveries of proton, neutron, nucleus.

Than all observations of photo electric effect.

After that Bohr model observations. It's postulates, idea of hydrogen spectrum, different spectral series.

All terms like energy, velocity, radius of orbit.

(Make sure you remember all the formulas of this chapter, better is to make short notes.)

After that quantum theory and familiar with all terms.

Remember you might not get things of quantum in one go so it's better to revise things in repetitive mode.

Make sure you don't have fear of calculation. So do all calculation by yourself.

One more topic which asked in jee advanced is based on Schrodinger wave eqn....so it will be covered in your class notes or in your coaching sheets.

Gaseous state:

So here one thing I will suggest you is that Read NCERT for this chapter.

After that remember all formulas and concept of different gaseous state.

Make sure you do graph based questions in this chapter.

Maxwell distribution curve is also very important from this chapter. Diffusion of gas is also important.

Try to learn concepts as in jee advanced some good questions are asked from this.

Thermodynamics:

So this chapter is somewhat on tougher side.

Why I'm saying this , first thing is its lengthy and than some mind provoking theoretical questions asked in jee advanced.

Remember that starting thing , you have to work hard to get this one so revise is as much as u can to get more clarity in topic.

And its weightage is also high.

So Once read Ncert it will give you fare idea about things.

After that your class notes.

Mainly we focus on calculation of work and entropy.

But for jee advanced point of view make sure you remember the conceptual idea behind chapter.

Like Entropy, phase change, Work calculation, First law of thermodynamics.

And one more thing don't mix this chapter with physics thermodynamics.

Like if you have clear idea about sign convection than it's good it will be bonus as you will get everything in physics correctly.

So make sure you do this as in physics it's weightage is high.

Themo chemistry is also part of this, and for that I would suggest that read chemistry and remember those particular definition you and than practice questions you will get that.
